The Ice Storm of 09

I came upon a small flock of Robins - what a rude welcome home for them!

Stroll along Main Street

Take a late afternoon stroll, explore the shops, meet the people, have a good meal at one of the fine restaurants. They're all good, we have some of the best Barbeque you've ever eaten at Big R's, Delizie Italian is too good for words, The Irish Rover is a very affordable trip to Ireland, (the owner is as Irish as it gets). Serendipity is a very cosy place to have lunch. You can look over their rooms of gifts while you enjoy lunch or tea on their eclectic china collection. The Red Pepper is open for lunch - and you just can't go wrong there, either. After dinner, have some great Blue Bell Ice Cream at Sweet On La Grange, have a seat on the porch and watch the trains and people go by. Most importantly, when you come to La Grange, the main thing you will do is just r-e-l-a-x...

Welcome to La Grange

Check back often for updates and find out what's going on in La Grange, Kentucky. For even more information, please visit our website at http://www.discoverlagrange.org/.

Come visit Historic Downtown La Grange - if you've never been here, you will be amazed, shocked, frightened by, intrigued, fascinated and plum flabbergasted that a train track runs right down the middle of Main Street. On that track run about 35 trains per day! Yes, it can occasionally get interesting. Locals don't think twice about coming face to face with a CSX engine pulling 100+ cars, you pretty much know that you have time to get to the corner and turn off Main Street. The trains move pretty slowly as they enter the downtown. Just keep in mind that they are bigger than you, and their brakes aren't as quick as yours. Also, don't try to race the train or get across the track to beat the gate, because if La Grange's finest see you - well, you are in a bit of a pickle...
